7 Dec 1883 being drunk when off duty in uniform at 8.10pm [on the] 6th inst, fined 1 days pay and reprimanded by the Chief Constable
28 Apr 1884 being drunk when on duty on the Railway Dock, Sunday 4.45pm [on the ] 27th inst, fined 1 weeks pay by the Watch Committee
26 Nov 1885 being worse for drink and unfit for duty when on duty at 10.15pm [on the] 24th Nov 1885, fined 1 weeks pay by the Watch Committee
18 Feb 1888 absenting himself from B Sub-Division during the afternoon of the 18th inst also being worse for drink when he returned at 5.30pm, reprimanded and fined 1 days pay by the Chief Constable
25 Aug 1888 using insubordinate language to Inspector Elliott and refusing to obey orders at 8.15pm on the 24th inst, severely reprimanded and fined 5 shillings by the Chief Constable
30 Oct 1890 leaving the Division (Fire Station) without permission and using insubordinate language to Superintendent Elliott at 8pm on the 30th, severely reprimanded and fined 2 days pay by the Chief Constable
5 Nov 1893 being absent from the 9am parade and remaining absent till 10.40am and when visited at his lodgings was found washing the bar floor of the public house at Chesterfield while on strike duty, severely reprimanded and fined 2 days pay by the Chief Constable and informed that the next time a serious charge is proved against him he will be taken before the Watch Committee and dismissal recommended
