Offences and punishment: 5 Nov 1891 not finding two refreshment rooms broken open on the St Andrew's Dock on the 5th instant, reprimanded and fined 1 days pay by the Chief Constable 27 Sep 1897 being insubordinate by using bad language to his suoerior officer viz Sergeant Bird when spoken to by him in Lees Walk, Walton Street at 12.35am on the 27 Sep 1897, severely reprimanded and fined 2 days pay by the Chief Constable 14 Apr 1899 reported by Inspector Sigsworth for being sat down drinking when on duty in the Sportsmans Arms, Day Street at 11.25pm on the 14 Apr 1899 for which offence he and PC 103 Daddy were fined 10 shillings and costs each by the Stipendiary Magistrate on the 5 May, suspended by the Chief Constable 19 Apr, reinstated 10 May by the Watch Committee but reduced from 30 shillings to 27 shillings per week and reported upon at the end of 6 months 1 Jan 1903 being worse for drink and unfit for duty at 1.30am on 1 Jan 1903, severely reprimanded and fined 2 days pay by the Chairman [of the Watch Committee] 22 Dec 1904 contrary to orders of the Force taking intoxicating drink when on duty 22 Dec 1904, allowed to resign by the Watch Committee 18 Jan 1905
