3 Jun 1885 reported by Superintendent Trafford for neglect of duty in not properly patrolling his beat from 7.35 to 10pm on the 2nd June 1885, fined 2 shillings and sixpence and reprimanded by the Chief Constable - [this entry has "cancelled" written through it in red ink and a sentence underlined that says"explained satisfactorily to the Chief Constable]

15 Apr 1885 commended by the Watch Committee for his zeal and activity in apprehending a man named William Dobson for warehouse breaking at Anlaby who was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment at the East Riding Quarter Sessions April 1885
