31 Oct 1872 using threatening language towards P.C.128 Dixey, reprimanded by [the] Watch Committee
31 Mar 1874 refusing to obey the orders of the Inspector, fined 1 days pay by [the] Chief Constable
12 Jan 1875 neglecting to find a door open on his beat at 2am, fined 1 shilling and sixpence by [the] Chief Constable
14 Apr 1875 being off his beat and in a brewery at 3.40am, fined 1 days pay by [the] Chief Constable
11 Jul 1877 neglecting the duties assigned to him on Thursday the 8th, fined 3 days pay by [the] Watch Committee
16 Jun 1882 making a false entry in his diary by alleging he was at home at dinner from 2 to 5pm on Wednesday 14th instant, whereas he was absent from the Borough at Beverley Races, reprimanded by [the] Chief Constable
10 Jan 1883 reported by the] Chief Constable for excess of duty in arresting a man named Edmund Thomas Hudson, licensed pedlar, in the Wellington Inn, Mytongate on an unfounded charge of stealing certain steel watch guards the property of Mr William Shaw, Jeweller, 10 Queen Street: he, Bray, subjecting Hudson to much indignity in conveying the latter from the public house along the street to a Mr Townsend's general dealer in Mytongate: through illegally fastening a pair of iron snaps on his, Hudson's, wrists at 6.45pm [on the] 31st Oct, also improperly bribing the man Hudson, by the payment of 5 shillings to leave the Borough and not attend before the Watch Committee to substantiate the charge on [the] 15th Nov last, the result being that the Committee were unable to arrive at a definite conclusion in the matter, reduced from Detective Sergeant to Service class Constable at 28 shillings per week and withdrawn from the Detective Department by [the] Watch Committee

20 Mar 1867 advanced from the 3rd class @ 19 shillings to the 2nd class @ 20 shillings
26 Jun 1867 advanced from the 2nd class @ 20 shillings to the 1st class @ 22 shillings
