Notes: Immigration Officer's report indicates that Mr Mille was the son of a French soldier, killed in the First World War. His mother subsequently married an Englishman and Mr Mille moved to England when he was four years of age. His return to England on 28 Aug 1935 was after five years spent in Canada under an Emigrant Scheme for harvesters. Secret correspondence (Aug 1937) indicates that Mr Mille had applied to serve in the Regular British Army.
