Description | The annual reports of the Chief Constable include information about administrative organisation, strength of force, persons receiving long service and good conduct medals, promotions, role of policewomen (particularly those dating from the early years), training, crimes and proceedings with statistical information on the types and number of indictable offences and the type of work that each department carries out, traffic division with statistics relating to accidents, licensing and other police duties, accommodation, welfare, sport and recreation (police clubs). Later reports contain generally more statistical information. Most reports include photographs of people, crime scenes and police buildings, many of these photographs can be found under reference POL/1/8. |
