Abstract	Harewood House and its collections are the work of a number of different patrons and artists throughout the last 200 years. Erwin Lascelles inherited a West Indian sugar fortune and commissioned Carr of York and Robert Adam to build him a new house. Harewood House contains plasterwork by Rose, decorative paintings by Zucchi and Angelica Kaufmann, furniture by Chippendale and the grounds were landscaped by 'Capability' Brown
