AbstractAuthor provides a summary of local late nineteenth and early twetieth century collectors of geological and archaeological artefacts including Edward Tindall of Bridlington, George Pycock of Malton, the Rev Canon Greenwell of Durham, Frederick Porter of Yedingham, Charles Monkman of Malton, Charles Hartley of Malton, the Rev James Robertson of Barton-le-Street, George Edson of Malton, Thomas Allerson of Norton, Thomas Boynton of Bridlington, the Rev Thomas J Monson of Kirby Underdale, Robert Gatenby of Brildington, Samuel Chadwick of Malton later New Zealand and collectors of ancient British and Anglo-Saxon artefacts from excavating barrows including Lord Londesborough, James Silbourn of Pocklington, the Rev Canon Greenwell of Durham and the author J R Mortimer of Driffield and his brother Robert Mortimer of Fimber also with a summary of where the finds are now.
