Abstract
A transcription of abstracts from the 'inquisitiones ad quod damnum' and 'inquisitiones post mortem' in the patent rolls at the National Archives relating to Beverley Minster and Beverley St Mary's. Most abstracts relate to licences in mortmain [ownership of real estate] but also give an account of the state of the Minster following the mismanagement of its provost, Adam de Lymbergh, the benefits of the officer of butler and a reference to the seven parsons who served in the Minster choir otherwise called rectors or 'berefellarii' being incorporated;. and also a deed dated 1400 incorporating the gild of St Mary.
