AbstractThe Sledmere Cross was built for Sir Tatton Sykes by Temple Moore and completed in 1899. The memorial brasses were added by Sir Tatton's stone, mark, in 1918. The purpose of this essay is to place the Sledmere Cross in its art-historical setting.
