Abstract | The article describes an unusual earthwork one mile to the south of the village of Rudston. Follwing excavations in 1958 and further aerial reconnaissances in 1961 the feature was identified as a cursus, the earthwork being its squared southern end. Two pairs of parallel ditches were also noted. These discoveries, taken with the Rudston monolith, show that this was a religious centre of great importance |
