DescriptionThe SS 'Calder' was lost in a gale on the North Sea around 19 Apr 1931 after setting sail from Hamburg to Goole, West Riding. Wreckage was washed ashore at Skegness. The crew comprised T W Sutherby, master, S Chapman, E Kitwood, J Guest, E Knight, H Snasdell, L Armitage, S Stevens, H Coult, S Doubtfire, F Sherwood, H Preston, H Braithwaite, L G Ellis, J Lydon, G Smith and J Cockburn, all from Goole. The steam ship was launched in Oct 1930.
