Property: Cottage with barn and garth containing 1 rood 38 perches on the south side of Town Street, Asselby, bounded by poor houses on the east and Back Lane on the south; and Waterhouse Croft containing 2 roods 38 perches, having Town's Croft to the east, Back Lane to the north and Croft End Field on the south. Also a messuage and croft containing 2 roods at Asselby, with the Primitive Methodist Chapel to the north and west, and Town Street to the north.
Witnesses: John William Grace and Henry Bolton, clerks to William Banks, Selby, solicitor
Note: John Smith of Asselby, yeoman, died 15 Oct 1862 leaving a will dated 29 Jun 1862, leaving his property to his daughter Hannah Palmer for her life time, and then to the use of his grandsons John Smith Palmer and William Palmer. Includes schedule of transactions 1781-1872 and plan of property.
