Diamond wedding at Mariposa. The Toronto Globe of 2 Jun 1900 gives an account of the diamond wedding of David King of Hutton Cranswick (born H C 27 Sep 1817) left for Canada 14 Apr 1835 arrived Mariposa 28 Jun 1835. Not worked in any other township and on 28 Jun 1900 will have been there 65 years. Complete wilderness when he arrived, now considered the banner township of Victoria Co. Lives on the south half of Lot 16 concession 8 the same farm he chopped and cleared himself. Married 1840 to Celia Ann Wilson born 1818 in Markham. Moved to where they live now on 14 Apr 1840, 5 daughters and 5 sons
