Title
Letter from [Jack Gorst?] to Lady Jessica Sykes
Date
17 Jan 1878
Description
Letter from 'Washington' expressing thanks for the 'kind note' he has received from Jessie. He evidently misses her after all that has 'passed' between them. He informs her that Sir Tatton ['The wretched individual whose name you bear' has arrived in Washington with a travelling companion 'J. Willo[w]'. He reports that he intends leaving Washington 'on Monday for Charleston' and that there is 'nothing ... doing in either the House or the Senate'. he has read in the newspapers that Lord Dufferin is expected to arrive in Washington.
