TitleLetter from Thomas G Bowles to Lady Jessica Sykes
Date13 Mar 1873
DescriptionOn headed paper 'Wansford' and addressed from the 'Haycock Inn'. Bowles writes to 'My dear child'. Bowles appears to have received a letter from Jessie, upon receipt of which he 'cried like a baby'. He expresses his shock at Jessie's behaviour and dismay at her failure to return his affection. He ends his letter on a more generous note 'It will always be a pleasure to me to hear from you if ever your care to write or that I can do anything for you in my small way. I shall be glad to see you decently settled in life, but don't be in a hurry ...'
