Description | John pardons Walter and his tenants John of Hunthowe, Walter Baty and Willyam Chapman for digging up turves and 'bleces' in Bukton More, which trespass Walter has undertaken to redress according to a pair of indentures made between them. He also pardons Walter and his tenants and servants Sir John son of Nicholas of Bempton, chaplain, John of Hunthowe, Walter Baty, William Chapman, John Bakster of Bempton the elder, Walter Ernys and William Walker of Bempton, all manner of personal actions For which Walter has granted to John all the soil of a 'forer' [balk?] 19 foot wide between the ditch of Walter's close in Bukton and his 12 bovates on the South and in length the width of the said twelve bovates which 'forer' [balk?] was recently given to John for a road; reserving to Walter the right to turn his carts and horses and harrows on the said 'forer' [balk?] at all times in the year when the said 12 bovates are reaped and sown. Walter has also granted to John for life a place in Bukton [Buckton] called Dartok Garth and a toft in Bempton lately held by Henry Smyth, to be held from Walter by the service of a rose at the Nativity of St John the Baptist Given at Bukton Friday next after the Translation of St Thomas 1359 |
