| Description | States that he died aged 80 years in Beverley on 21 Feb 1779 and was interred in a private vault at Emswell [Elmswell]. He had 4 children, Francis Best, Marmaduke Best, Charles Best and Rosamond Best, by his wife Rosamond, daughter of Yarbrough Constable of Wassand. His wife died at Bath on 6 Mar 1787 aged 86 years.
