Includes references to Cap[tain] Jelfe; Ryder's arrival in Hull and receiving orders from the Lords of the Admiralty to Press from all protections; beginning to Press on Saturday night and got Sixty Stout Seaman but had to discharge fifty of them the next day because of their Greenland protections; Capt[ai]n Jelfe having written to the Lords of the Admiralty to say that Ryder was careful and diligent in procuring men for the service; having 'got about Thirty brave, Stout Seeman fitt for his Majesty's service; his dire straits; a request for a loan of sixty pound and directions to him at Anthony Law South End Hull
