19 Aug 1756
Description
Includes references to the lack of reply to his letters from Grimston; having been unable to leave the craft for two or three days to visit Grimston; being at the hawk by the Lords of the Admiralty's orders to Procure men for the service; having between sixty and seventy Pressmen and when he has 100 shall sail for the Nore; men now being very scarce; the Press men he has now being by far the worst sort he ever had to deal with; those guarding over them being Greenwich Hospital men who are old and almost incapable of service; there being few officers; hoping to bring the men over to him by being amongst them and giving them good Provisions so that they both fear him and love him and directions to him at Mr Lawes at ye Royal Soverance at South End Hull
