Title
Letter to John Grimston at Kilnwick from John Bagnall at Newcastle Under Lyme
Date
3 Oct 1754
Description
Includes references to his Sponsor Sir Digby; Will Beard having informed Bagnall that Grimston is making an excursion to Newcastle; his godson undergoing a great deal of pain in cutting his teeth; being at Newcastle Under Lyme because he had Timber convenient for a Church being built in the neighbourhood; having made a recantation to Beard of all his errors of speaking contemptibly of Staffordshire; his impressions of Staffordshire; having been at Warwick and it having been consumed by fire 50 years ago and rebuilt so there was a general uniformity which he prefers to the minute Uniformity at Bath and at all the Alms-houses he has ever met with; L[or]d Brooke's noble Castle and hoping to persuade Beard to accompany him back to Donnington
