DescriptionIncludes references to having been at Death's Door at Xmas but being now recovered; going to Ankerwyke; the family at Neswick being in distress; Turner having communicated part of a letter from Grimston and now having gone to Hedon to accompany his old Father; Boudicea having had its run [at the playhouse] and even though he had expected much from Glover's pen it was the worst Tragedy he ever saw; the new play Philoclea being little better in the Plan and Conduct, though not so bad in the Language; Miss Nossiter being of good stature and figure till she speaks, then her whole cast and countenance alters, her nose flattens and all her features become those of a Baboon, being most like a monkey when she is most pathetical; the reasons why Foote will never make a Player; the Town being angry with Garrick for permitting [the plays] to be exhibited; the Operas being performed to almost bare walls and an Italian Comedy or Burletta sometimes being performed at Cov[en]t Garden house meets with uncommon success on account of an exceeding droll girl called Nicolena Giordano
