DescriptionIncludes references to having arrived safely in town; Barny being in better spirits than expected; having heard the Concert on Fryday but there having been no Assembly on Monday night; having dined with the Dean on Sunday and with Will Bows the following day; all friends being well at Ossington on Wednesday; having attended the Ladies to Lady Westnage's where they saw Miss Berry and her Galant; them both accompanying the Cartwrights to London; having left Ossington on Monday and arrived at London on Thursday; the weather and performance of his horses; Hudson having taken him lodgings where S[i]r Rob[er]t Hildyard lodged last year at Mrs Starrs Milliner at the crown in Pall Mall; Bagnall not yet having come to town; not having seen Mrs Payler; having accidentally met Mr Ansell, who was going to write to Grimston regarding Stone's affairs, him still being in Barbados; the town being very full; having seen the Chances on Thursday night, a play of the Duke of Buckingham revived in which Garrick performs but contains obsenity; having been pleased with the Opera; there being a good Burletta next week; their Uncle Will[ia]m being well; the frost being severe; wishing to be at Naples till the cold weather is past and his views on travelling
