Includes references to Mr West having written that he has taken care of Grimston's draft; drawing £500 more to supply Mr Maisters; Thompson's opinion on the loan; return on money lent to ye South Seas; being unable to visit Kilnwick as his stay in York is so short; Mrs Seward preparing his brother John's house at Kirby for the Thompsons; Croft being at York Races; Grimston's trouble with his servants; South Country Servants for their Customs being too much different [to Yorkshire] to be agreable; no other Count[r]y producing servants for horses like their own; Grimston's Diffidence about going into Parliament; Thompson's hopes that he will take Courage when the time comes nearer; Thompson's offer to look for a Borrough for Grimston; the two Candidates for Kent who oppose each other and living much in the same way as at Scarb[orough] but would prefer a quiet retreat
