Includes references to Mrs Grimston's Lamp and its supply of spirits; a trip out of Hull; a decision not to attend the Assembly; an offer of accommodation should he decide to show Mrs Grimston the rooms; not knowing of any room large enough for a carpet apart fromv Mr Sykes' at Sledmire; Thompson calling to look at it on his way to Mr Sykes and recommending it if it is suitable; if it will not do Maister possibly having it for his Card Room; possibly having it matted up and sent to London by sea; sending goods to Beverley once the Providence arrives; the offer of some Hounds being an acceptable present to Harry, if they can be conveyed on a ship to Hambourg for him; expecting Billy, who is going over to St Petersburg to enter into partnership in an established house and where he hopes that he will fix Arthur too and Harry expecting to be in England in August or September. Also includes a pencilled note about Port gone to Bond
