DescriptionIncludes references to Mr Graves's arrival; Grimston's Neswick neighbour and his 'dear boy', whose company they had expected after he had seen Mrs Grimston to York in his round for the Hunmanby and Huttonbushell families; Mrs Grimston's journey; the Robinsons having stayed a day longer than intended; travelling to Brompton with Patty; Dolly Cartwright; visiting Miss Cotton at Scarb[o]ro[ugh]; seeing Miss Cotton at Brompton; dining with a family at Wikeham; nine of the Cayley sett coming; Miss Cartwright having set out for Nottinghamshire and asking her to meet at Sherburn; Kitt; seeing a very intoxicated Parson who had been at Brompton the day before in Mr Nelson's; proceeding to Knapton but the house being empty, they having shifted their quarters to York; visiting Scampston and finding S[i]r William, my Lady, three Miss St Quintin, Mr Dayd, Coll[onel] Ravenhill and his Daughter; staying for dinner at Scampston where Dr Waugh, Mr Preston and Fenhorn were expected; the arrival of Lady Betty Egerton, Miss Egerton and Miss Gooderick; Mr Egerton being the most handsome man she had ever seen, having the countenance of Lord Villiers; Miss Egerton putting her in mind of Miss Mountague; having asked L[ad]y St Quin[tin] if she could sit at a sidetable but S[i]r William had tried to hand her to the other Table; her Mother having sent the Coach in search of her because the Day was bad; her Mother rejoicing that Grimston has rid himself of his worthless servants but hope that they will be able to find a way of seeing Ganton and Miss Do[:] having passed Scampston in heavy rain but Mrs Creyk having informed them that she had got a place on the coach
