Includes a copy of a letter to Thompson's and Seward from John Lewes in Gibraltar dated 17 Sep 1750 concerning a sum of money owed and allegations that Lewes is delaying the process of repayment; references to Prizes that he was concerned in during the command of Admiral Medley; a discharge given him by Mr James Read; communications that he has had with William Jenkins Esquire, Commissioner of the Victualling and a demand from Mr Daniel Hailes for money owed for provisions supplied to the Surprize tender; Thompson's letter refers to the contents of Lewes' letter and also Groves' country estate; settling with Lewis' agent; a payment to McKenzie for Captain Osborne's bill to Medley; a bill drawn from Virginia upon H Aubin in London payable to Medley, who gave it to McKenzie; nothing seen of Captain Gardiner but he will be paid Bing's third; Bing owing Grimston money by Grove's account; a letter from Henshaw; payment of a draft to Brown and seeing Cotterell at York
