TitleLetter to Thomas Grimston at Kilnwick from Thompsons and Seward at London
Date10 Aug 1749
DescriptionIncludes references to enabling West to recover interest on public securities; has not seen Mr Groves to ask him if the masts and oats were disposed of by the Admiral's orders or by his own; Green determined not to part with any money without the indemnification; Mr Cheere's request for money; payment to Mr Shard for an escutcheon which had been omitted from his bill; no error in the charge of turnpikes and £1 16 shillings paid for passing over a ferry and Mr Groves remarks on Mr Green's accounts, in which he notes Mr Grimston's objection to the £103 loss on the cargo of oats charged to Mr Rowley or the captor but Mr Green will not allow it. Mr Medley gave the order to Mr Greene to dispose of the oats but it was while Mr Rowley was in the Mediterranean therefore it may be mentioned to Mr Rowley to get him to allow it on his proportion. There is about 130,000 in Green's hands upon which there is an appeal and Mr Grimston has his share to come
