Includes references to the ship Argyle, (late a tender employed by Admiral Medley; by name the Surprize); his business in Leghorn; an account from Mr Lewes at Gibraltar and a letter from Mr Lewes informing him that he has received a letter from William Jenkins Esquire, Commissioner of the Victualling Office in which he hopes to settle the accounts of the Surprize as quickly as possible and a request to impower Mr Grove or another person to settle the matter
