DescriptionIncludes references to distemper in the cattle of Grimston's tenants; Groves' account from the Victualling Office but Mr Millisent has not been able to make a draught of it; a list of cargoes and their produce which have been stopped and deposited with Mr Moriarty, the judge at Mahon having given a judgement 'at the King's Pleasure', the ships being the Concordia, Christiana and Barbara, Cornelia Maria, Hoffwerk, Iceland's Wellfare, Lady Noletta, Catherine Gelley, Constantia, Helena Henrietta and Confidencia; Mr Byng's concern in it; an amount to be paid to Mr Thompson in the next week; Mr Morn and Mr Groves to give a discharge under the power of attorney for the deposit of the Sweed's ship; a meeting to be had next week with Mr Green and Wombwell regarding a cargo stopped in Mr Rowley's time which Mr Green will have to Mr Medley's loss; the Genoese effects, which Mr Rowley was ordered to deliver a list of what was condemned to the Admiralty but 7 or 8 cargoes have not yet had sentence passed, following which the King will order the division; the prize taken to the Leopard; sailors now easy about the Bedford's Prize; the title of Vice Admiral of England conferred on Lord Anson is honorary and has a salary of £500 per annum and Mr Rowley is Rear Admiral of Great Britain with a salary of £300 per annum but the former will not be able to command the latter; instances of private Captain's being invested with the title, particularly the father of the Duke of Grefton; the Leeson is favourable for Grimston's melons and accounts of the Misericordia, Leverpool and Cabenis at Villa Frank
