Includes references to Groves' illness; his intention to travel as soon as possible from Leghorn to Vado to settle public accounts; balances to be paid for sundry stores supplied to the Fleet by the late Admiral's order, which has left Groves destitute of money; a request to Vice Admiral Byng to assist him to draw upon the Navy board for £2000; a meeting he has had at Leghorn with Mr Howe regarding accounts both public and private for his examination; information from Vado that several officers of the Fleet concerned in deposits paid to Mr Medley regarding the Genoese propose to detain the chest of money left on the Boyne but the King should determine the disposal of it
