In Nov 1996 the Department of National Heritage accorded Grade 2 status to the former museum of antiquities at 25 Lockwood Street, Driffield. It was built in 1878 by J R Mortimer to house his extensive geological and archaeological collection. It is now the Masonic Lodge.
