a) Testimony of Lord William de Ros, Hamelake, William Baildon, Baildon, having complained to him that John Vavasour, Steyd and Weston, has disseised him of a third part of the half of the manor of Baildon, of the third part of the wood growing on the moors and wastes in the lordship, and of wood in Dawhyrste in Baildon sold by William de Ros to Thomas of Thornore for the profit of William of Baildon; William de Ros testifies that John has no wood in the moors and wastes because he once bought from William de Ros woods in Baildon called Hoy'pecroykes, Glovyreshawe, Baildon Northwood and Baildon Gill, without any claim to any other woods; he has no claim to Dawhirste, as appears from his quitclaim to Lord Thomas de Roos, father of William de Ros, and from indentures made for the sale of Dawhirste between Lord Thomas and Sir Myles of Stapelton and the said John, which indentures William de Ros delivered to William Baildon; he has no claim to lordship in Baildon, but only holds lands in socage for which he pays 22d yearly and suit of court, which lands he once held of William de Ros and now holds of William Baildon; given at Belver [Belvoir], 6 Mar 1418
