Title
Letter from George Calverley-Rudston, Ishawooa, Wyoming to Trevor Wheler Calverley-Rudston
Date
16 Dec 1905
Description
Wishes his father a happy birthday and comments upon local affairs around Hayton. Mentions Lady Topp's wedding and how popular it is in American newspapers. All Englishmen are called 'Captains', Frenchmen and German 'Counts' and everyone else 'Colonel'. Mentions that his father made him sign a paper that he would not return to England and that he did not wish to sign it. Says that one can do nothing without money. Englishmen make fools of themselves '...they all seem to be alike when they get out here'. Running a saloon bar would make money. Is sorry to hear he is thinking of selling Allerthorpe.
