TitleIrish warrants
Date1633-c.1635
DescriptionIt is uncertain as to why these warrants are in the collection. Sir Walter Rudston's commission was deposited with them, so it is possible that his recruitment by Thomas Wentworth led to a military spell in Ireland and that, somehow, they eventually ended up in the Rudston collection. These warrants appear to be copies as there are no seals and represent a small proportion of the actual warrants issued. They appear to relate predominantly to ecclesiastical appointments but a small proportion deal with Irish society generally. Personal names are often reduced to the title and initials only. They have been listed in the order that they appear in the bound volume.
