Title
Letters from John Thomas, junior to William Henry Rudston-Read, Pocklington
Date
24 Mar-5 Apr 1853
Description
Describes himself as the leader of the class of Wesleyans and discusses Mr Jackson's offer of land to build a chapel, asks for an alternative site and states that the original plan originated in Pocklington, not Hayton. Second letter explains that Methodism is a connexion and the inhabitants of Hayton would not necessarily have to concur with the decision to build a chapel.
