Description | Ralph Creyke of Marton in the East Riding (died 1717) was succeeded by a line who all bore the name Ralph. Ralph his son died without issue in 1759. The latter's nephew and successor married Jane Langley, one of the nine children of Richard Langley of Wykeham Abbey, whose wife Elizabeth was co-heiress of Boynton Boynton of Rawcliffe. (The other co-heiress Judith Boynton married John Twistleton and died without issue). Two-ninth parts of the Boynton estate at Rawcliffe were inherited by Ralph Creyke, junior (son of Jane) who appears to have acquired other parts and who lived at Raweliffe Hall; he died in 1828. His son and grandson, both Ralph, inherited the estate and died in 1858 and 1908 respectively. |
