DescriptionJohn Elles and wife Anne and Thomas son of John Kent of York dec'd. (a former husband of A.E.) property: T.K. to assign to her all his property in Staxton and a messuage in Upper Ousegate in York as her dower. He leases to them all property in England which descended to him on death of his father for 20 years at £ 8 rent; and covenants to convey all such property (Staxton, Heslington and Flaxton mentioned) to Laurence Kyghley, J.E. and Christofer Elles chaplain all of York to specified uses (mainly for redemption of T.K.'s debts and incumbrances on the premises and his apprenticeship to Laurence Sullye; which incumbrances arose from estates in the premises granted by T.K. to John Paynter alias Richardson, William Harryngton and Rauff Pullyn of York).
