Dr Sydney Kennaugh Appleton when he was appointed assistant Medical Officer Health and tuberculosis medical officer for Hankow, China, in 1929, holding these post until 1937. He returned to England and after holding various posts, he was appointed divisional medical officer to the Goole districts in 1947, a position he served in for 23 years. He died on 29 July 1978. |
