Bequests Dwellinghouses and appurtenances in the township of Wavertree in the County of Lancaster together with household goods, furniture, plate, linen and china to his wife Matilda Holmes.
All monies, securities and remaining personal estate are left to his his wife Matilda Holmes, William Laidlaw and Robert Breckon. 19 guineas are left to each executor and residue to be invested in public or government securities with dividends and interest paid to his wife during her natural life. After her death these monies are to be paid to Henry Barrick, the younger of London. 19 guineas are also to be paid to Agnes, Sarah and Milcha Pickering, daughter's of his late cousin Ann Pickering. £50 each to Mary Ann and Eleanor Barrick daughters of his brother in law Henry Barrick the elder.
After his wife's death the residual balance is to be paid equally to her nephews and nieces the children of her brother Fisher Burgess and his wife Horatia Nelson Burgess.
