DescriptionStates that he is 27 years old and is a ship builder who has worked hard in Whitby nearly the whole of his lifetime.He was intimately acquainted with Jeffrey Holmes, Whitby, hairdresser who married Ann Steward also of Whitby. By this marriage there were issue two children, William Holmes born 3 Jan 1795, Whitby and Ann Holmes born 28 Feb 1798. That Jeffrey Holmes died 9 Jan 1841 in Whitby. That on 29 Sep 1829 I married Ann Holmes daughter of Jeffrey Holmes and by this marriage I have issue three children Mary Ann, born 16 Dec 1831, Whitby, Edward Steward born 31 Aug 1837 Whitby and died 15 May 1840 and Ellen born 16 Apr 1840. That William Homes and Matilda Burgess married 2 Apr 1850, Chester and he died at Bridlington 28 Feb 1869 leaving his widow without issue. That his wife Ann Barrick, formerly Ann Holmes died 28 Feb 1876 . that his eldest daughter Mary Ann was married to James Hall in Liverpool 21 Apr 1878 and Ellen my other daughter married George Wilkin Hall in Darlington 16 Jan 1879
