| Description | The Finance Committee was formed in Nov 1899 as the Finance and General Purposes Committee and was one of the standing committees established on the creation of the Borough Council. The General Purposes function was split from this committee in Nov 1926. In 1968, following the Maud report on management in local government the functions of the General Purposes Committee were again merged with the Finance Committee along with the Acquisition of Property, Civil Defence and Industrial Development Committees BOBR/1/4/2/1-2, 4-5, 7 contain indexes. |
