| Description | The Maternity and Child Welfare Committee was formed in Oct 1919. when, following the passing of the Maternity and Child Welfare Act, its functions were separated from the Health Committee. Minutes for Oct 1919-Oct 1920 can be found with the Sanitary Committee minutes (BOBR/1/4/6/3). The committee was responsible for setting up of welfare centres, ante-natal treatment, training of health visitors, maternity homes, supply of milk. The functions of the Maternity and Child Welfare Committee were transferred to the East Riding County Council ion Jul 1948. Volume BOBR/1/4/15/1 contains an index. |
